Two fully armed F/A-18 Hornets flying over icy mountains. I never really liked these birds but they are no doubt more beautiful than some birds out there. Certainly more beautiful than F-35. Click on the Image to see more details.

Though the Hornets aren't that ugly, I prefer the styling of the Sukhois over them.

I prefer late 3rd gens over these newer machines. And those gen 5 superfighters are just awful. They're worthless, overpriced and their performance isn't improved enough to justify the prices of them. I'd take an F4 over an F35 any day

F-4? interesting choice. You must be real old school then :) But I agree with you about the outrageous prices of the modern jets.

I wouldn't say old school (Maybe just stupid lol), I just have a soft spot for Vietnam era aircraft for some reason.

No I agree with you, The phantom has really beautiful lines. I have work featuring the modernized F-4, They are called "terminators" and used by Turkey. here is the link: [link] I hope you like it :)

On the topic NATO members not buying Russian.... Poland still kept it's Mig 29s. I'm not sure that it's a hard rule, rather than it's political and economic one. I mean at a certain point practicallity has to be considered. If your country has been using Warsaw PAC equipment for the last 50 years it's alot to ask your average grunt to put down his AK and trade for a M-16. There is a whole infrastructure and training switch involved.

Poland had Russian made planes before it joined NATO in 1999. Even Germany inherited Russian planes form East Germany after unification. They don't dump their weapons right away after joining NATO, but they will gradually do as Germany retired its Mig-29. This rule is not only about political economy, it is also vital for communication and coordination during joint operations. Uniformity in using the weapons and technological devices is vital during operations.
